So I'm pulling 300 rwtq on the dyno, only 275 rwhp. Figure something is wrong with the beast. I check the usual things, run out of time, and bring it to trusty Jimbo. Well, cylinder #1 is at 60 psi cold, 105 psi hot. The others don't look a whole lot better (120/125 psi cold for the most part). And all this with only 128'000 km on her, that's like 80'000 miles. Very sad day.She's also smoking some at 2000 rpm (well, not some, a whole lot). Nasty, nasty, nasty. They're going to button her up, and let me take her home. Guess she'll be a daily limper until I get her a heart transplant. :-( So, now to find a rebuilt engine. Figure that I'll get something with a tiny bit more ooommph... SGP upgraded long block is $5900... pricey, but it looks like a nice combo... Grrr...
I think this calls for a drink... a lot of drink...
